Challenge

Design an update to one of Incipio’s most popular products: The three card carrying Stowaway. The product had to feel familiar, and function like it’s predecessor; but, be an improvement to the quality, experience, and aesthetic.

Process

After research with our customer service team, online reviews, and retail partners, we uncovered insights into how we can improve the products function and aesthetic. We learned that people felt the preceding product and color options felt to aggressive. I created a simplified form language to create a less polarizing product, direct CMF, and worked closely with the factory to design, prototype, and Iterate on the functional improvements, and ship the project.

Solution

A familiar product with simplified language, and lifestyle inspired CMF.

Non Polarizing

The previous stowaway felt aggressive. The design strategy was to create a passive and non polarizing card carrying case for everyone. This was achieved by simplifiying part lines and removing embellishments.

Card Carrying

The Stowaway carries 2-3 cards and has a cutout to allow users to easily remove their cards
